Jason Bentley is Music Director of KCRW inSanta Monica, an influential NPR affiliate servingSouthern California and the world.He is host of their signature weekday music program Morning Becomes Eclectic andSaturday night dance mix show Metropolis. Shaping the sound of KCRW for more than adecadeasa DJon the air daily, hosting live in-studio performances and interviews, and developing the station’s vibrant public programs,one could say Jason truly shapes the sound of Los Angeles. A few highlights from 2017 include a fourth year hosting Coachella’sofficial festival broadcast (themostviewedlive musiceventoftheyearonline), curating a fifth season of popular Summer concerts with the Annenberg Foundation in Century City, moderating a panel discussion of NASA scientists on the 40th anniversary of the Voyager’s “goldenrecord”launch, and supervising the music for Mercedes/AMG’s 50th anniversary ad campaign. The new year will see Jason’scontinued commitment to the cultural fabric of Los Angeles from a new, state-of-the-art KCRW media center, and through on going relationships with the LA Phil / Hollywood Bowl, Coachella Festival,andThe Grammys/The Recording Academy, among others.
